4.1. Create Chart
This function allows you to select the chart type, plot and customise the chart for the data table you have created.
Sample Steps

Step 1 of 2
In the Table Customisation and Chart Plotting page, click on the Chart icon.



Note: To exclude specific variables from being plotted in the chart, use “Partial Display” to hide these variables from the table view before proceeding to plot the chart.


Limit the number of variables and years to be included in the chart to avoid cluttering the chart.

The chart type option will be greyed out if this function is not available for presenting the data in the table created.

Vertical Bar

Note: Mouse over each bar to view the value of the data point.

Horizontal Bar

Note: Mouse over each bar to view the value of the data point.

Pie Chart


Note: The pie chart could only plot the values for one single year of a variable. Mouse over each pie chart segment to view the value of the data point.

Line Chart

Note: Mouse over each point in the line chart to view the value of the data point.

Population Pyramid

Note: The population pyramid is for single year data tables with age and sex breakdown. Mouse over each bar segment to view the value of the data point.

4.2. Customise Chart
This function allows you to change the chart type and properties of the chart you created.
Sample Steps

To customise a chart, click on the Customise button at the Chart View.

You could update the following chart properties:
      -    Title of the Chart
      -    X/Y–axis label and positioning
      -    X/Y–axis starting point and interval
      -    Footnote

You could also opt to:
      -    Show all values in the chart
      -    Adjust the chart size
      -    Change the pattern of the chart, i.e. solid effect or gradient effect
      -    Change the colouring and positioning of the legend

4.3. Export & Email Chart
This function allows you to export a chart in various file formats and download to your local drive. The available file formats are JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF or PDF.

You can also send the chart image via email.
Export Chart

Step 1 of 2. In the Chart Plotting page, click on the Export menu.

In the dropdown menu, select the required file format: JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF or PDF.

Step 2 of 2. A download dialog box will be displayed.

You can:
[ 1 ] – Click on Open to open the file
[ 2 ] – Click on Save to save the file onto your local drive
[ 3 ] – Click on Cancel to close this dialog

Email Chart

Step 1 of 2. In the Chart Plotting page, click on the Email icon on the right hand side of the common navigation bar.

The Send Email pop-up screen will be displayed.

Email

Step 2 of 2. Enter information in all the form fields below:

[ 1 ] – Recipient email address. To send to multiple recipients, please include commas in-between email addresses
[ 2 ] – Title of email
[ 3 ] – Message to the recipient
[ 4 ] – Select the file format for the chart to be attached in the email
[ 5 ] – Verification code

Note: If you cannot read the verification code, click the refresh icon next to the image to generate a new one.
